Mark Whittock joined Ellis Architects in 2021 having previously worked in architecture on the California Central Coast and in the Sacramento Valley. His primary experience is in mixed-use and multi-family projects, but also has worked on masterplan proposals, single-family residential, and art exhibitions. Notably, Mark was involved with a grant project funded by the National Science Foundation researching future building materials and practices, specializing in adaptive facades. Passionate about designing sustainable spaces that inspire the people who occupy them, Mark firmly believes that great architecture should be accessible to everyone. Mark studied at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo where he received his Bachelor of Architecture in 2018 with a focus on sustainable design. From an early age, Mark learned the value of working with his hands, and he often explores art and design through woodworking, furniture building, and water coloring.
