RESTAURANT RENOVATION – MARIA’S CANTINA

Architecture: Ellis Architects

Interior Design: Design Tech

Client: 6th and Court LLC
Completion: 2011

Formerly a vacant restaurant building within the historic district of Woodland, this building’s new owner desired a complete renovation, inside and out, to revive the restaurant with a fresh, authentic cantina style. The modifications, all within the existing building’s footprint and gable roof form, included a new commercial kitchen, accessible restrooms, tequila bar, and a street taco window. To provide opportunities for year round dining, a large, wrap-around “porch” was added, including an outdoor fireplace at the corner. The signage design and graphics were also provided by Ellis Architects.
