Located at the 5th and top floor of a beautiful historic building on K Street, and steps from the State Capital, this project was to provide interior improvements for a technology tenant that required a more contemporary design aesthetic. A design challenge was to raise the ceiling height as much as possible, exposing the ductwork and infrastructure, to allow openness with natural light and views of the other adjacent historic buildings. The interior side of the existing brick was left exposed and contrasted with the new white walls and frameless glass partitions. Ellis Architects worked with the team to coordinate on custom furniture elements and ceiling panels to create a unique and dynamic space.
